Principal - Dr. Lisa Peele
Dr. Lisa I. Peele has served North Carolina public education since 1999. Her roles include teaching(3-8), school administration(K-12), and district leadership. She currently serves as the Director of Cultural Arts and Global Leadership in the Onslow Country School District. Onslow County Schools offers a wide variety of arts education and global opportunities for students. Onslow County Schools is currently designated as a Model Global-Ready District. Dr. Peele has been recognized for her leadership by the North Carolina Art Education Association as the North Carolina Arts Education Arts Administator of the Year, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington as 2022-2023 Leading with Impact award, and by UNC World View as the 2023-2024 Carol Tesilini Educator of the Year. She maintains partnerships with local performing arts education and global organizations, companies, community colleges, and various NC universities. She has a passion for education and is truly a lifelong learner. Dr. Peele's educational background includes a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of School Administration degree from East Carolina University. She received her Doctor of Education degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a focus on education administration.
She was born in eastern North Carolina and began her career in Pamlico County Schools, serving as an elementary and middle school music and choral teacher. She also served Pamlico County High School as an assistant principal. She is truly blessed to have served the Onslow County School System for the past 18 years as an assistant principal, principal, Director of Cultural Initiatives, and the Director of Cultural Arts and Special Projects. She believes that positive leadership truly matters and is valuable in all aspects of life. Her leadership values of integrity, trust, and perseverance continue to guide her work each and every day.
